High Tide, Holy Water
High Tide, Holy Water, 2014
Live ritual performances at Mary Mattingly's WetLand boat project and surrounding marina in Philadelphia. Responding to the site of the marina, a fishing net becomes a holy veil, and mylar robes become the vestments of water-nuns. Buoys, jetsam & flotsam, and shells become ritually infused with the liminal power of the marina: an in-between place of rest, docking, and waiting. Part of the Fringe Arts Festival. In collaboration with Ariel Sims (suite I, dusk) and Ben Korta (suite II, night).
